EB-5 Extension Until Sept. 30, 2020

December 23, 2019 / lindy

Washington D.C., Dec. 19, 2019: The House of Representatives and the Senate have approved legislation that extends the EB-5 Regional Center Program until September 30, 2020.

The extension of the EB-5 Regional Center Program does not include changes to the program’s requirements. The USCIS Regulations that entered into effect on November 21, 2019, therefore remain unchanged.

The new EB-5 Regulations increased minimum investments to $900,000 for high unemployment areas and rural areas, and $1.8 million in other areas.

USCIS has not yet issued rules, forms or procedures for requesting a designation of high unemployment area. Thus, no high unemployment areas are currently certified by USCIS. Areas that formerly qualified as targeted employment areas before the regulations changed are no longer in effect.
