Harbourside Construction Update

July 13, 2011

After the speeches were made and the ceremonial shovels were put away after the groundbreaking ceremony, the construction crews pushed their way onto the site of Harbourside Place, Jupiter, FL.  Any project in Florida located on the water, such as this, needs to have the correct base in place to protect against the corrosion of the sea. While unglamorous, this phase of construction will be essential to the final product, the constructing of a new seawall.   This new seawall, will firmly hold in place the basis for the development of this project and keep the water of the Intracoastal at bay.  Using a new design composed of a cold-formed cantilevered sheet pile design by Coastal Systems International, Inc and cast-in-place bulkhead system, this will be a state of the art design, built to last. The nearly 1,100 linear foot long seawall will allow future patrons to walk directly on the water’s edge and access to the docks and private slips, which will be part of the Harbourside Place Project. Additionally, site clearing has taken place, with the removal of vegetation and various debris to make way for the pouring of future concrete foundations.
