06 Nov ‘Pumpkin Fest’ fills Jupiter streets with goblins, fun for a kids’ cause
On Oct. 20, the streets of Harbourside Place in Jupiter were filled with ghouls, goblins, princesses, dragons, zombies, superheroes, mermaids, ninjas, vampires, and every conceivable costume.
Children trick-or-treated throughout Harbourside Place and to the more than 35 vendors who provided candy and fun activities for kids and parents alike, along Vendor Row.
Chasin A Dream Foundation Pumpkin Fest arrives again
The 2nd Annual Chasin A Dream Foundation Pumpkin Fest (chasinadream.org) is a local event that families look forward to each year.
The foundation assists local families with children battling cancer, cystic fibrosis, heart disease and other life threatening illnesses, and many of the children they assist were among the crowds and also were the judges of the much loved costume contest.
Chasin A Dream board member Norma Huempfner (Riverside Realty) noted how proud she was to live in a community with such a giving spirit.
“We have based our foundation on the principle of locals helping locals and the community response is overwhelming. This was our second year at Pumpkin Fest and each year it gets bigger and better.
“It was so much fun to see the vendors dressed up in costume and playing with all the kids in the street. Everyone just gets so involved. It’s such a fun day and for such a great cause, and you can’t beat the beautiful Harbourside Place venue.”

Pumpkin Fest local business sponsor testimonials:
Vicki Pfeil, Millers Fine Hardware
“We had so much fun Saturday at Pumpkin Fest! It was a blast seeing the kids all dressed up and having their faces painted. I am so glad we were able to sponsor one of the face painting booths and so honored to help Chasin a Dream Foundation. I am a big proponent of local’s helping locals!! Chasin A Dream is an angel to so many local kids and they are very lucky to have them in their corner!”
George Magnifico, Ameritrust Capital Partners, LLS and Jupiter Professional Suites:
“The Pumpkin Fest is a powerful event that provides a safe location to trick or treat. The event also allows the community to support Chasin a Dream Foundation’s mission for continued support of local families and their children fighting illnesses like cancer and cystic fibrosis. We are committed to and excited about supporting the foundation. As a local business in Jupiter, we are extremely proud supporting a local foundation giving back to our community. The highlight of the day is seeing the smiles on all those children’s faces. That’s priceless.”
Richard and Molly Apple, Applecorps Photography:
“Sponsoring one of the face painting booths this year for Chasin A Dream’s fundraiser is a wonderful opportunity for Applecorps Photography. We place the care and treatment of our most ill children as our highest priority and there simply is no more rewarding feeling one gets than being able to play a role in such a wonderful program. Thank you to Chasin A Dream founder, Lori Griffith, for giving us this opportunity and for everything that you do for what Molly and I now refer to as “Lori’s Kids”!
Kelly Sudell, Palm Beach Orthopedic Institute:
“We were a proud sponsor of Pumpkin Fest 2018 and could not be more pleased with the incredible turnout from our community. It was such a great opportunity to give back to local families while engaging with all of the families! We had an amazing time and it’s such a fun chance to create brand awareness. We are looking forward to returning for an even bigger event in 2019.”
Connie Kartell, Harbourside Place:
“Charitable giving is very important to Harbourside Place. Since our inception, we have dedicated ourselves to supporting as many charities, events, and local businesses as possible. Lori Griffith’s, Chasin A Dream Foundation has hosted the annual Pumpkin Fest for her second year in a row, much to the delight of our surrounding community. Families from all over South Florida show up to Harbourside Place for Pumpkin Fest with eager children, big smiles, and heaps of holiday spirit! Lori’s team prioritizes giving to the community and benefiting those in need – a service heart we can stand by.”
In addition to trick-or-treating, a costume contest, and fun activities along Vendor Row, the Harbourside Place amphitheater was transformed into a Fall Pumpkin Patch.
It had more than 700 pumpkins of every size and shape.
Chasin A Dream’s Pumpkin Fest 2018 kicked off the holidays in sunny south Florida style, complete with blue skies and sunshine.
