The Sanya EDITION celebrated its official launch earlier with a glamorous opening party.
Over 200 socialites, celebrities and international media attended the grand opening of the beachfront property, the latest addition to EDITION hotels, the brand conceived by legendary hotel visionary Ian Schrager in a partnership with Marriott International.
Continuing to expand his global influence, The Sanya EDITION is Ian Schrager’s first hotel in China.
As part of the opening celebrations, guests attended the launch of the stylish Limited EDITION shop displaying exclusive pieces of art co-curated by Ullens Centre for Contemporary Art Beijing and Steven Giles of Base Project.
Visitors were invited to dine at Market at EDITION, one of the hotels several specialty restaurants, before heading to the spectacular rooftop Sky bar for the after party with a headline set from Shanghai-based DJ Cara.
From this vantage point, guests were treated to a brilliant fireworks display over the hotel’s 20,000 m2 private ocean and views of the South China Sea.
Special guests attending the launch event included international model Bonnie Chen, fashion designer Ye Mingzi and her husband Mark Zhang, as well as Dan Flannery, senior vice president and managing director of EDITION hotels.
Redefining luxury for a new generation, The Sanya EDITION is set within 50 acres of meticulously landscaped lush tropical greenery and features 512 residential-style guestrooms, including 46 spacious suites.
