The New York Islanders will be hosting an NHL Draft Party at Nassau Coliseum
on Friday, June 22. Fans are invited to come together to cheer on the Islanders, who are scheduled to make the 11th and 12th picks in the First Round, while enjoying a variety of entertainment throughout the evening.
Outside the arena, Long Island band Decadia will entertain fans with live music beginning at 5 p.m. in the exterior beer garden. Fans can play tailgate games, including cornhole and the Kan Jam, provided by the Jam Kancer in the Kan Foundation. In addition, the New York Open will have a mini tennis court, and Orangetheory Fitness will set up a fitness zone for fans to explore.
Inside, guests can take advantage of face painting, a GIF photo booth, a dunk tank, inflatable games and more. The Hockey Hall of Fame will showcase historic NHL memorabilia, including items from the Isles’ famed Stanley Cup dynasty.
The Ford Parking Lot opens for the event at 4:30 p.m., and arena doors open at 6 p.m.
American Express card members can enter the AmEx Lounge to meet former Islanders legends Bryan Trottier and Bobby Nystrom. The lounge is located in the arena bowl and will be open from 6 to 9 p.m. AmEx card members must show their credit card to gain entry.
The NHL Draft will be broadcast on the arena’s huge scoreboard, with live in-arena commentary from Islanders Radio Network play-by-play announcer Chris King, and MSG Network host and reporter Shannon Hogan.
New York Islanders defenseman Ryan Pulock will join King and Hogan to discuss what it feels like to be drafted and to reflect on his first few years in the NHL. Isles alum and pro scout Eric Boulton will also be on hand to share some insights on what to look for in NHL prospects.
Tickets to the Draft Party are $10, and can be purchased at newyorkislanders.com. Proceeds from ticket sales will go toward benefitting youth sports on Long Island. Parking is complimentary.
Islanders Season Ticket Members, Rock The Island plan holders and Long Island All Access Members can attend for free, with a maximum of four attendees per account.
