Flowers, Festivities And A Look Into The Future at West Hollywood Edition

December 24, 2024 / Kira

Multi-disciplinary Los Angeles-based artist Becky Hearn has teamed up with  West Hollywood EDITION for the property’s 2025 holiday installation, The Tree of Memory, in the hotel’s lobby, partnered with an immersive work of art that reimagines a conventional floral arrangement into a sculptural masterpiece.

The piece will incorporate digital media, with an integrated video camera that projects subjects on a display screen, transforming an abstract interpretation of the familiar symbol of the Christmas tree, into an interactive experience where one becomes a part of the artwork. Hearn is known for her work in the music and fashion industries, including collaborations with fashion retailers FWRD and Revolve and her floral design studio, Bucky’s Flowers. The installation will be live through the end of December.

“The Tree of Memory is a reflection of constant creation where I blended floristry, photography, and video into one sculptural work of art,” Hearn tells L.A. Weekly.  “It wasn’t inspired by any specific memory, but by the act of reflecting on memory itself, fueling a state of continual creation.”

Hearn and Bucky’s Flowers will hold a two-hour holiday floral arranging class at the hotel on Saturday, Dec. 7, complete with a Dumæ vase and champagne, juices, and light bites for inspiration. With tickets at $40, proceeds will be donated to School on Wheels, which provides free tutoring and mentoring to children from K-12 living in shelters, motels, vehicles, and group foster homes in Southern California. Bookings here via EventBrite.

The hotel’s chic lobby will be serving up its seasonal cocktail, Holiday Helper (Ketel One Vodka, Drambuie, vanilla, lime, and Boiron passion fruit puree). Priced at $20, proceeds from Holiday Helper will also be donated to  School on Wheels.

Astrologer and mystic Meghan Rose will also be at  The West Hollywood EDITION for a December residency. Offering insights into 2025, Rose will offer readings to help guide stepping into your power and living more authentically. Each 15-minute session is complimentary, with the purchase of a  $20  Holiday Helper, with proceeds going to School on Wheels.  Rose is the author of Glamour Magazine’s monthly Tarotscope column,  the popular Star-Crossed newsletter and co-hosted the When Stars Align podcast.  A look into the future is open to the public on a first-come first served basis in the lobby bar on Tuesday, Dec.10,  Tuesday, Dec. 17, and Thursday, Dec. 19 from 7 p.m. until 10 p.m.
