The Marriott West Hollywood Edition hotel and residences on Sunset Boulevard is slated to open later this month, which will make it the 21st hotel in West Hollywood.
The 13-story hotel will contain 190 guest rooms. It also will include a gym, a restaurant, a rooftop pool and bar, and event space. Behind it, facing Harratt Street there will be 20 condominiums on floors 9 through 13 with 20 condominiums with their own entrance and pool. Those condos, ranging from one to four bedrooms, with prices ranging from $5 million to $8.5 million. On penthouse is said to be on the market for $25 million. The Edition Residences website shows only two of those units are currently available. Urbanize LA reports that the hotel rooms will rent from $400 to $500 a night.
Construction on the hotel began four years ago. It will be the Edition brand’s West Coast flagship. The hotel was designed by British architect John Pawson with influence from Ian Schrager.
With the opening of the Edition, West Hollywood will be home to 21 hotels. The Pendry, a project of AECOM Capital and Combined Properties Inc., is under construction on Sunset Boulevard at Olive Drive, the location of the former House of Blues. Developers are working on plans for two other hotels.
